Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Arrive 2 hours domestic, watch peak roads

Aim for 2 hours before domestic departures (3 international); security is usually quick but terminal access roads and parking fill fast during morning banks and events.

Official site often shows <10 min TSA waits; still factor construction detours and rideshare/GTC walk.

Terminal

Stay airside—all concourses connect post-security

One terminal means no re-clearing between B/C/D/T, but far C/D gates or C satellite can mean 10-15+ minute walks.

Use the interactive map app; Concourse A remains closed for reconstruction through at least 2027-28.

Food

Prioritize Nashville hot chicken

Hit Hattie B’s, 400 Degrees, Prince’s or Party Fowl for authentic local heat before boarding—better than generic chains.

Multiple locations airside; pair with local beer or banana pudding sides for the full Music City experience.

Status

Expect construction friction through 2027

New Horizon expansion (Central Core reopens Dec 2027) means Lot A closed, cashless parking, and occasional congestion—check flynashville.com alerts.

Growth to 40M passengers planned; on-time around 75% recently with weather/staffing spikes.

Honest verdict

Who this airport works for

Best for

Local Nashville food and hot chicken
Straightforward single-terminal domestic travel
Southwest-heavy itineraries
Quick security on non-peak days

Watch out for

Ongoing New Horizon construction (Lot A closed, Central Core to 2027)
Long walks to far C/D or satellite gates
Limited lounge options (no classic Priority Pass)
Road/parking congestion and rideshare GTC walk during peaks
