Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Book a free security timeslot

Schiphol lets you reserve a free security slot; 2025 peak days saw 95% of passengers through security within 10 minutes.

Reserve on schiphol.nl. Allow extra time for US-bound and early-morning banks even with a slot.

Terminal

Schengen vs non-Schengen split

One terminal, but passport control splits Schengen and non-Schengen piers after security.

Gate M passengers cannot use Aspire 26 or 41. Far piers (F/M) can take 15–25 minutes on foot.

Food

Eat after security, refill first

Dutch tap water is potable; refill at airside fountains before paying airside prices.

Reported fountain spots include toilets at D6/D8 and the pier F stairs. Bottled water in airside shops is typically €3+.

Status

Match the lounge to the pier

Live Priority Pass is Aspire 26 (Schengen) and Aspire 41 (non-Schengen) only — not KLM Crown.

KLM Crown 25/52 need a same-day KLM or international SkyTeam itinerary (or a paid walk-up). Star Alliance Lounge 27 is Schengen only, next to Aspire 26.
