Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport security wait times

What a normal day looks like at security here, and how to get through faster.

Flying from AMD?

Enter your flight for a door-to-door plan: when to leave, security, the lounge you can use and your gate. No account needed.

On a typical day

~14 min through security at AMD, from our airport directory. Early mornings and holiday weekends run longer.

Budget that on top of check-in or bag drop and the walk to your gate. For your exact leave-home time, enter your flight above: the plan uses the live wait when there is one.

Two terminals — leave slack for peaks and a single-runway bank. Short city hop; evening IndiGo/AI banks and runway backtrack still bite.

How to get through faster at AMD

Single 05/23 — leave buffer when monsoon, banks, or NITB works stack
Partial parallel-taxiway history still means some full-length backtrack.
Use the official 24/7 complimentary T1↔T2 coach if you land in one building and depart the other — pick-up is T1 Arrivals Lane 1 / T2 Arrival Plaza Lane 1 (and the matching departure drop-off lanes). It is landside: you still re-screen, and you still clear immigration on an international leg.
Terminal 1 (Domestic) — primary domestic check-in / CISF screening / gates for non-Air-India domestic metal. DigiYatra lanes for enrolled domestic departures. After security, 1st Floor food court plus The Lounge (opposite Gate 04 / past the food court) and Adani Lounge (near Gate 01).
Terminal 2 (International + Air India / Air India Express domestic since 29 March 2026) — international check-in, outbound immigration, and Air India Group domestic. The Lounge T2 sits after security opposite Gate 3. Two Adani Silver Priority Pass rooms sit after passport control on the 1st Floor (Gate 8 24h; Gate 1 from 12:00).
