Domestic ~75–90 minutes when quiet; international ~2–2.5 hours; intl→domestic plan ~3 hours.

Cabin-bag domestic passengers who already know the kerbside can often work with about 75–90 minutes curb-to-gate when queues are calm. International check-in plus security and outbound border control still wants about 2–2.5 hours on a normal day — longer in school holidays, Christmas/New Year, and early-morning long-haul banks. Same-day international→domestic connections must clear the full arrival process and then walk or bus ~10–15 minutes; Auckland Airport advises allowing around three hours after an international arrival before an onward domestic departure.

Confirm International vs Domestic before you leave home; brand does not put you in one building.

All passport flights use the International Terminal, including Air New Zealand and Jetstar international services. Domestic Air New Zealand / Jetstar / regional carriers use the separate Domestic Terminal. Boarding passes may simply say “International” or “Domestic” — same split. Follow the painted green line outdoors or the free transfer bus; do not expect an airside corridor.

Use Strata / Koru / Qantas when entitled; Oma is PP eat credit, not a lounge.

International airside has Strata Lounge as the pay / Priority Pass soft product, plus Air New Zealand Koru / Lookout and the refreshed Qantas International Lounge for entitlement passengers. Priority Pass also covers Oma Artisan Bakery restaurant credit — useful if Strata is full, not a soft-lounge substitute. Domestic dining is mostly landside/airside food-court style; there is no equivalent PP soft lounge on the domestic side.

Koru upgrade through 2027 — follow Air NZ invite; Qantas intl is the rebuilt oneworld room.

Air New Zealand is upgrading its Auckland International Koru Lounge through late 2027. Eligible guests are routed in real time to either the reduced-capacity Koru room or the temporary Lookout Lounge (peak banks roughly 05:00–10:00 and 15:30–21:15) via the Air NZ app or SMS after check-in. Lookout has no in-lounge toilets/showers — bathrooms are a short terminal walk. Qantas’s rebuilt International Lounge (opened Dec 2025) is the oneworld flagship answer while Koru works continue.
