Germany's Foreign Office warns that renewed fighting could close Iranian
airspace and cancel flights without warning. Foreign airlines no longer
serve Tabriz, so Iran Airtour's Istanbul flight is the main international
link. Reconfirm with the airline 24 hours before and again on the day.

# Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport (TBZ)
Tabriz, Iran · Middle East
The main airport of north-western Iran, with 1.21 million passengers in the first nine months of 1403 (March to December 2024). Most flights are domestic, chiefly to Tehran and Mashhad; Iran Airtour flies to Istanbul, but Turkish Airlines, AJet and Pegasus suspended Iran flights in September 2026. Domestic and international flights use separate terminals, and a paid CIP building is the only lounge option. The runways are shared with an air force base. Germany warns against all travel to Iran, and EASA advises EU airlines to avoid Iranian airspace.
