Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport (IATA SYZ, ICAO OISS) is the
airport of Shiraz, capital of Fars province in southern Iran. Local time is
    Asia/Tehran (UTC+3:30).
  - >-
In Iranian year 1402 (March 2023 to March 2024) it handled about 2.64
million passengers and 24,190 aircraft movements, the third-busiest airport
in Iran, according to Iran Airports Company figures.
  - >-
Most traffic is domestic. In Aban 1404 (October/November 2025) the airport
handled 226,006 passengers, of whom 44,210 flew internationally.
  - >-
As of autumn 2026 Istanbul is the only scheduled international destination,
flown by Iran Air and Iran Airtour a few times a week. Flights to the UAE
are suspended, and Najaf depends on demand.
  - >-
Domestic and international flights use separate terminal halls. A new
    international terminal is under construction.
  - >-
The airfield is shared with the Iranian Air Force. Germany's Foreign Office
warns against all travel to Iran and urges German nationals to leave the
    country.

    detail: >-
Germany's Foreign Office warns that renewed fighting could again close
Iranian airspace and cancel flights at short notice, as it did in spring
2026. The Istanbul service runs only a few times a week, so confirm your
flight with the airline on the day you travel and keep a fallback plan.
summary: Airspace can close without warning; reconfirm on the day.

    detail: >-
Domestic flights use the domestic terminal, and international flights
(currently Istanbul) use the separate international terminal with its own
passport and customs control. A new international terminal is being built,
      but it isn't open yet.
summary: Two separate halls; go to the international one for Istanbul.

# Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport (SYZ)
Shiraz, Iran · Middle East
Southern Iran's main airport and the country's third-busiest in 1402 (about 2.64 million passengers), serving Shiraz and Fars province. It is now almost entirely domestic: Istanbul, on Iran Air and Iran Airtour, is the only scheduled international route. It has separate domestic and international halls, a paid CIP service, and a Metro Line 1 terminus near the entrance. Germany warns against all travel to Iran, and EASA advises EU airlines to avoid Iranian airspace.
